I'm still going through my phase of contour painting (It'll end soon, I want to go back to traditional painting). This effect is to be viewed from afar so I know looking at it on your monitor won't be so great (plus you'll see all the brushstrokes) so why not get as far away from it as you can to view it

Its just that this style is done by others too and gets criticised as well for the simplicity and lack of skill required. I can paint in a traditional way and I'm just experimenting with this style at the moment. I guess with this style you either love it or hate it. I love that you love it
I've heard of acrylic ink, I haven't seen any in the shops before yet I saw someones work who had used it with water and it looked gorgeous the way the ink ran though the water. I'd love to try it
